Deschutes Steelhead Report 7/31

Fishing has really picked up in the last week.  Counts are on the rise and we are hooking several fish a day and even landing a few.

It's much busier than last season or at least it feels that way.  In an effort to meet limited entry requirements the BLM is issuing 10% fewer boaters passes in 2013.  What that means to most of us is early planning. Last minute trips are going to be difficult to put together but we'll do our best.  We still have a lot of openings for August but they are closing fast.  You can check out our availability by clicking here!

Fish are coming at first light and during the heat of the day.  All methods of fishing seem to be effective right now with these eager biters.  So far, despite the annual average return deficiency, fishing is unusually good, let's hope it stays that way.
