Winter Steelhead Fly Fishing Report

Well here we are again! Last week we got some good flows and swung a lot of fish! Both the Sandy and the Clack are low cold and clear. There's been a good inversion going for quite a few days which has aided in keeping some water in the rivers but the low level temps have been in the twenties to low thirties for an extended period. Both rivers are ice cold and gin clear. That said there are fish they're just hard to get to.

Best tactics for these conditions wade deep, fish deep and be stealthy! As soon as it warms up and starts raining, be ready to roll!
