Winter Steelhead Fishing Report!

Every year we get a spell of pretty cold weather. You know the weather I mean, cold dry, and just no fun. The rivers will run cold, low and crystal clear. As the rain hits my roof this morning I know it's about to swing the other way. This is good news for fisherman. It's good news because I know for a fact that there are a bunch of fish in the lower reaches of my favorite stream. We went out the other day on a local river and put up some big numbers...but it wasn't just us. The river was as low and clear as I have ever fished it, outside temp was 33 degrees F accompanied by a fierce east wind and guess what? Everyone was catching fish (and freezing their arsses off). That's good news, it means the next squirt of water will bring those fish upriver to "swing time".

Give me a call if you want to get out.
